Versailles is a local city in Kentucky known for its castle, which our Goodwill ambassador, Yokoyama-san, visited. Situated approximately 15 miles (about 24 km) southwest of Frankfort, it is also famous for its unique adventure.
Rail Explorer is an exciting tourism adventure that offers unique experiences by providing rail bike tours on historic and scenic railroad tracks. The company Rail Explorers USA has several sites in the US, but in Kentucky, the route goes through the picturesque Bluegrass region, allowing you to enjoy lush green landscapes and historical railway bridges along the way.
Last week, Wilma S. visited the site and sent us some pictures. She said, "This is a beautiful part of the KY Bluegrass that has our famous horse farms around this area. The next photo is the end of our rail before we were turned around to return. In the distance, you can see Wild Turkey Distillery. Wild Turkey is on the KY Bourbon Trail and not far from Buffalo Trace Distillery in Frankfort, KY."
Tracing an old rail track by bike sounds exciting, doesn’t it? Be sure to visit if you get the chance!
